What is NDIS ?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) was first established on the 1st of July 2013 in Australia and is designed to provide personalized and lifelong support and aid to individuals with disabilities as well as to their families and caregivers. Its purpose is to enhance the overall well-being, autonomy, and quality of life of individuals living with disabilities.

Who is eligible for NDIS?

To access the NDIS you need to meet the following requirements:

  • you have a permanent disability that significantly affects your ability to take part in everyday activities
  • you are under 65 years old when you first access the scheme
  • you are an Australian citizen, live in Australia and hold a permanent visa, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa.
